As many people know, Pokémon Go is the latest rage in mobile gaming. The game makes clever use of augmented reality (AR) to get people out into the real world and perform various tasks like catching Pokémon. It has become a very popular game, and really shows the power of AR.
AR is a live view of a real-world environment whose elements are augmented or supplemented by computer-generated sensory input such as graphics, sound, video, and GPS data. An example of this is sports scores on TV during a match. By contrast, virtual reality (VR) replaces the real world with a simulated one.
AR and VR are both part of the reality-virtuality continuum, which is a continuous scale ranging between the completely real, reality, and the completely virtual, virtuality. The area between the two extremes, where both the real and the virtual are mixed, is called mixed reality, which is sometimes referred to as hybrid reality.

Thanks to Pokémon Go, many have got a taste of what mixed reality has to offer, but how far can it go? Below is an amazing video called Hyper-Reality by Keiichi Matsuda, showing us a new vision of the future, where physical and virtual realities have merged. He really took it to the next level.
