This free little universe viewer is quite amazing. It’s called Mitaka, and it’s made in Japan. It’s actually pretty old, the latest version was released on 26 May 2008, but it still looks very good.
The download is around 35 MB, and it works straight out of the box, no install required. I recommend it, the sheer size of the universe will boggle your mind. You can download it here. Please enjoy!
Tip: Once you start Mitaka, click on Landing/Takeoff in the menu bar and choose Landing/Takeoff (if you don’t see Earth, click it again), then hold down the Page Down key on your keyboard until you reach the end of the universe!
